Nutella Christmas Tree
I make this tree every Christmas Eve ready for the chaos of Christmas morning, it is by no means the healthiest breakfast but when serves with a bowl of fresh fruit, it is still better than just sweets! This recipe also makes a lovely addition to any Christmas party and is always a great hit with the kids.
Nutella Christmas Tree
Ingredients:
1 block of puff pastry
Nutella
1 egg, beaten
Golden caster sugar for sprinkling
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 170 fan. Cut the pastry in half and roll out thinly, transfer to a lined baking sheet and cut into the shape of a Christmas tree.
2. Cover the Tree shape with Nutella but try not to go to close to the edge.
3. Roll out the second piece of pastry and cut into a tree shape and place it on top of the Nutella.
4. Cut slits in the side of the tree on each side, then lift each section and twist it slightly. 5. Egg wash the pastry all over and sprinkle with the sugar.
6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown, this can be served warm or cold and is lovely with fresh berries and even a spot of whipped cream if you're feeling really naughty.
